realXtend and Opensim showcase videos

The best that open source virtual worlds offer

I collected the best videos to show off open source virtual worlds. Take a look and comment if you want to add something I missed.

There are a lot of videos to look at if you search Opensim or realXtend at Youtube. I collected some of the best films I found from Youtube and Flickr into this same article. Sit back and enjoy!

realXtend - Breakdance - Avatar tech demo (realXtend, April 2008)

This is just plain awesome! Even after two years.

realXtend 0.4 Beneath the Waves (realXtend, December 2008)

realXtend aquarium video, looks beautiful - business meetings can be done in a nice environment...

realXtend 0.4 - Bot support (realXtend, December 2008)

Very, very convincing case how Opensim and realXtend could handle several hundred users if assets are distributed to clients in a more intelligent manner. Required a change to the protocol.

Ludmilla's 2nd rezzday (Zonja Capalini, February 2009)

This is just beautiful - great video that shows off what can be done with Opensim and Second Life viewer.

This is the time of the revolution (Zonja Capalini, March 2009)

Turn up the volume! This is entertaining and bears an important message...

Architecture in Virtual Worlds: Revit model imported into realxtend via 3DS (Jon Brouchoud, March 2009)

Now back to business. This well made video is one of the most appealing use cases for virtual worlds  today.

Teleporting between Opensim and Second Life using the realXtend viewer (Zonja Capalini, May 2009)

This is the dawn of the 3D Internet. Shows off one of the technical highlights of the legacy realXtend viewer. Teleports with the realxtend viewer worked even before hypergrid.

Virtual Expo (realXtend, September 2009)

The virtual worlds were flat before this. Now they can be like a ball - but from inside. Gravity is defied.

Now here's a very recent video capture from realXtend's Naali viewer. Looks promising!
